Paul Hopkin runs a beautiful gallery, in the Pilsen neighborhood of Chicago, called Slow.
In 2014 he invited me to make art in response to a play the gallery was staging, Dirty Crusty by Clare Barron. I read the play while I was singing my daughter to sleep. I can do that.
There is a moment in the play when one character realizes that another character is in love. The moment includes both a finger and an anus.
Here is the proposal I gave to Paul. As always, click for a full sized picture.
Then I went to a website I use often rubberstamps.net and had these two stamps made, and sent directly to Paul. The anus was in red. It's better that way.
